After upgrading SQL Enterprise Manager from version 7.0 to 2000, I receive the message "timeout expired" when attempting to connect to my SQL Server.
Load your Enterprise Manager. Under [Tools][Options] on the Connection tab there is a setting for Login time-out. By adjusting this value higher, it will allow for more time to connect to the SQL server.
