Saving an Email Message as a File in Outlook
 
 
  • Open Outlook.
  • Select the message you would like to save as a file.
 
  • Click File at the top of the program.
  • Click Save As...
 
  • A Save As dialogue box will be displayed.
  • Select the location where you would like to save the file.
  • Type in a file name.
  • Select Outlook Message Format (*.msg) from the Save as type list.
  • Click Save.
